1) Science: The Yuckiest Site on the Internet
http://www.nj.com/yucky/ As evidenced by its title, this site take
an irreverent approach to the study of the human body so as to
capitalize on kid's interests and curiosity. There are, however,
lots of information about body systems, cool science experiments,
yucky body facts, and additional sections about worms and roaches.
Every month there are new hands-on activities. Be sure to save
these because there is no archive. Additional activities can be
found in the teacher's guide.

2) Math: Harcourt Animated Math Glossary

animated glossary is a great resource for kids and parents.
Look up those math terms here that you have forgotten to find
animated examples. The terms are arranged alphabetically by
grade level. Common formulas, measurement terms and symbol
definitions are included in a series of accompanying tables.
This glossary can also be used as a model for students to use
when making up their own animated examples.

free access to Encyclopedia Britannica, Merriam-Webster Dictionary,

feature articles. The Encyclopedia articles are cross indexed
with appropriate magazine articles, web sites and related books.

4) Language Arts: English and its History

languages are dynamic and ever-changing. This site traces the
history of English from its roots in Old English to Middle
English. Many word examples and literature selections are
used to illustrate the changes in words, grammar, spelling and
pronunciation over the years. By looking at Old English it is
easy to see the language's roots in German and the Scandinavian
Languages and then the influence of Latin on Contemporary and

Project

cavers on an online expedition to find new caves and conduct cave
research in Borneo. This educational project includes background

by grade level or topic or browse by subject or keyword.
