or those of you who use the Iditarod in your classroom--and for those of
you who are looking for a wonderful new unit that will energize your
kids--this year's interactive SCORE Iditarod project is now live.

You will be able to interact with Joanne Potts (Race Director), Ellie Claus
(a Junior Iditarod runner), Mary Shields (the first woman to complete the
race), Martin Buser (Iditarod champion), and Sam Hlavaty, a musher who has
worked on productions such as Iron Will. You can also interact with two
teachers who will be attending both the start and finish of the race, and
share your teaching ideas with other Iditarod teachers. The site also
contains a wealth of information about the race and ideas to use in your
classroom.

The project address is:

If you would like to be added to my list to receive updates, please send me
an email and I'll be glad to include you.
