Project Summary:
School groups will be placed in groups of three with each group writing an
act of a mystery play, then sending it to the next school for the next act
to be completed. At the conclusion of the writing phase, schools will clean
up the plays

Full Project Description:
Summary
Classes will collaborate with 2 other classes to write the scripts of four
mystery plays. Each play will consist of (3) acts with one act
written by each of the classes in the script circle. Each class will write
the script for the first scene of the play. They will pass the
script to the next group and receive Act I from another group. They will
then write Act II and pass the script to the next group in the
circle. This sequence will continue until each group has written four acts.
When the originating group receives their completed play,
they will develop the technical lists and mail the completed play to
everyone in the circle. Supporting materials and activities will be
posted on the project website.

Project coordinators will be available weekly online to discuss playwriting
strategies and processes (IRC information to be provided to
participants). Project will culminate with an live online discussion of the
dramatic process. Discussions will be held at in a private,
moderated chat room at Talk City. At the conclusion of the project, each
class will have three scripts which can be used for reader's
theater and other dramatic activities.

Objectives:
Students will develop plays in a cooperative, collaborative environment.
Students will learn the fundamentals of playwriting.
Students will use on line resources to develop writing projects.
Stuents will read, critique and refine plays.
