Full Project Description:
An online weather project for Australian and International schools, which
has a range of activities suited to many year levels and easily integrated
across the curriculum. Six mailing lists and publication on the web site
support the great activities, information and links available. The project
is in its fifth year of operation and each year increasing the number of
schools taking part from various parts of the world. It is a fun, safe and
rewarding place for stduents to learn about weather on the internet and make
friends in other coutnries.
Objectives:
Schools make regular contributions to email lists to share weather data,
stories and poems, drawings, jokes and folklore which contribute to the
project web site. Schools have the opportunity for fun, student-centred
activities which make effective use of the internet. Teachers become skilled
at managing on-line project particpation as part of their everyday classroom
activities and open the walls of their classrooms to a higher profile on the
internet for themselves and their classes.
