Drop in on biochemist Erik Wilson of the University of California, San
Francisco and ask any science-related question you like. Many questions
may be answered with “I don’t know, but how can we find out?” If
pursuing your own customized “ScienceQuest” appeals to you, stop by
Reception during Erik’s “HelpDesk” duty.

* Challenge 2000 - Is the Standards Movement causing a backlash against
technology...?
4:00-5:00pm PST/7:00-8:00pm EST/00:00-01:00 GMT
Are you feeling caught by the standards movement?  Are you feeling that
the technology projects that you do with your students are coming under
scrutiny because they may be taking time away from standards-based
instruction? Share your experiences and insights with teacher leaders
from the Challenge 2000 Multimedia Project, a federal Technology
Innovation Challenge Grant that promotes the use of multimedia in
project-based learning.  Together, we may be able to identify ways to
combat "technology backlash."
