Lycos has quietly launched one of the first mass-market free-to-subscribe
Internet access services. Known as Lycos Internet, the Web portal says its
"no strings attached" service is available to 95 percent of US Internet
users. The new service includes free e-mail, accessible via the Web, as
well as 11 megabytes (MB) of free Web editing space.
