Subject: Rubric Construction Web site -- Network Nuggets

* [[[ RUBRIC CONSTRUCTION WEB SITE ]]] *

Here is an inservice use for the World Wide Web!
WWW4TEACHERS is hosted by the [Kansas] South Central
Regional Technology in Education Consortium, as
"a Web-based publication, with new features, interviews, Web
lessons, and surveys added every month." This consortium
also hosts http://www.4kids.org, a Website like CLN but
for younger users.

For today's Nugget we feature the consortium's Rubric
Construction Kit, at http://www.4teachers.org/projectbased/checklist.shtml.
Rubrics are an important adjunct to project-based learning, but
few teachers relish making them! By providing a large set of
possible rubric criteria, sorted by grade level and subject
matter, this site tries to automate the process. You click
on the criteria you want your students to be assessed on, and
the Web site compiles your rubric for you. It allows you to
insert criteria of your own, of course.

The various available criteria run the gamut from K through 12.
