TEACHING INFORMATION LITERACY AND PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING

Discover how to take your students beyond conventional assignments by
creating a WebQuest. Explore what is needed to implement problem-based
learning and review best practices for teaching information literacy and
research skills at a variety of ages. Participants will review ways in

publishing a Web page.

WEB PAGE DESIGN FOR EDUCATORS

Explore the essential elements of Web design and utilize practical tools
and
step-by-step procedures to design, build, and post your own website.
Participants will execute a series of activities in HTML to create
templates
for page layout and learn techniques for fine-tuning, modifying, and
overriding prepackaged web page development software. Activities include
how
to use graphic conversion software to prepare artwork and photographs for
web
publication. By the conclusion of the workshop each participant will create
a
five-page classroom or school website.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT FOR TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION

Designed for technology committee members, media specialists, technology
coordinators and administrators who are responsible for planning and
delivering staff development. Includes assessing faculty technology
integration skills, selecting instructional design strategies and
assessment
tools for a Web-based workshop, and developing workshop/staff development
resource Web pages. Activities include hands-on experience using listservs,
discussion boards and Web-based conferencing strategies.

for tuition payment. No payment is due until the workshop begins.
UNI has provided online training to teachers, technology coordinators,

specialists, administrators, and curriculum coordinators from 29 countries
and 32 states.
