TWANGFEST 4 JUNE 8-10, 2000

The fourth annual Twangfest [http://www.twangfest.org],
the nation's leading grassroots alt-country music
festival, will be June 8-10, 2000, at the Off Broadway
club, 3511 Lemp Avenue, in St. Louis, Missouri.

More than 15 bands will play over three nights for the
main festival, in addition to several day-time activities
and a pre-festival acoustic night on June 7 at Schlafly's
Tap Room, 2100 Locust Street. All evening events begin at
8 p.m.

Twangfest is the world's only music festival planned and
organized entirely by volunteers via the Internet.
Twangfest, a nonprofit organization, is a celebration of
great alt.country music, from bluegrass to hard-core
honkytonk to roots rock.

Twangfest 4 headliners include:

Thursday, June 8: Fred Eaglesmith (Razor & Tie Records)
and Lonesome River Band

Friday, June 9: Tim Carroll (Sire Records) and Wayne
Hancock (Ark 21 Records)

Saturday, June 10: The Sadies (Bloodshot Records) and Bill
Kirchen (Hightone Records),

For the full band lineup, listing of all Twangfest 4
events and ticket information, information on
travel/accommodations, directions to all events and
venues, and reviews and photos of previous festivals,
visit http://www.twangfest.org

For four years, Twangfest has presented performers
representing the best of the alt-country genre, including
established artists like Damnations TX, Robbie Fulks, and
the Waco Brothers, along with a wide selection promising
up-and-comers. It has gained a reputation as the
liveliest, most creative, and most entertaining music
festival around. Twangfest 3 headliner (and Sire recording
artist) Dale Watson described it best:

"Twangfest is the future survival of country music...and a
home for us survivalists."

In addition to its St. Louis festival, Twangfest also:

* produces "Edges From The Postcard", an acclaimed
compilation CD featuring some of the best acts in
Americana/alternative country/No Depression music, as well
as many up and coming artists.

* supports efforts to expand music education in schools,
and promote benefits of such programs for young people
