Why Is This Site Different From All Other Sites?

Temple Emanu-El Goes Online April 2 With the First Internet Broadcast of a
Religious Service
http://www.emanuelnyc.org

Congregation Emanu-El of the City of New York will create religious and
electronic history with a first-time ever Internet audio broadcast of the
Passover Seder on Wednesday, April 3, 1996 at 7:00 p.m. Sidney, Australia
Time/April 3rd, 1996 at 4:00 a.m. EST. You are welcome to attend a 2 p.m.
press conference and virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 2 marking this
historic event at Temple Emanu-El's Wise Hall, One East 65th Street, NYC.
(please r.s.v.p. to Goldine Eismann at 212.799.3061).

For several years, Temple Emanu-El's annual Passover broadcasts on WQXR
radio have, been reaching thousands of listeners in the New York community,
presented as a public service endowed by Jeffrey S. Gould. With its launch
into cyberspace on April 2, people from around the world will be able to
celebrate the holidays with Temple Emanu-El. The online audience will join
rabbis, cantor and children from the religious school, and participate in
the Seder as they celebrate Passover, the holiday which retells the ancient
story of the Jews' exodus from Egypt.

Accompanying the audio broadcast will be a collection of illustrated
Haggadot from the archive of the Klau Library, Hebrew Union College-Jewish
Institute of Religion, Cincinnati, enabling Internet viewers to
follow the text of the Seder ritual.

This fall, the Temple will broadcast live via the Internet, its Rosh
HaShanah service, allowing the world to worship with congregants during the
High Holy Days.

While Jews around the world prepare to ask "why is this night is different
from all other nights?", the press conference on April 2 at 2 p.m. will
allow time to learn "why this site is different from all other sites."
