WHAT CAN BE DONE TO MAKE TECHNOLOGY a powerful tool for
teaching & learning in all schools? Specifically...

What do teachers need in terms of support & professional
development opportunities?

What roles can parents, businesses, & communities play?

How can the "21st Century Teachers" effort & other
initiatives help?

These & related questions are the focus of this month's
Satellite Town Meeting. Coming to you live via satellite from
the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C., "Technology
& Teacher Leadership: 21st Century Teachers" will feature a
panel of technology-minded educators & local leaders from
around the country, including:

> Ms. Nancy Flanagan, Michigan Teacher of the Year '92 and
President of the Michigan State Teacher Forum

> Ms. Mary Moore, Manager of Corporate Contributions for
the US WEST Foundation, Seattle, Washington

> Mr. Jose Gavarette, Chair of the Dade County PTA
Technology Committee, Miami, Florida

> Dr. James Pellegrino, Dean of the Peabody College of
Education & Human Development at Vanderbilt University in
Nashville, Tennessee

Secretary Riley will host the discussion, which will be
broadcast on Tuesday, October 15th, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

You are invited to participate! For details, please read on.
