The SMASH! list is for women who are breaking the stereotypes. The
original SMASH! Concept focuses on SMASH! Negative Body Images in Women, a
website at: http://www.geocities.com/Paris/7119/smash.html
But now we want to branch this mailing list out to discuss more than just
body image.
Some possible topics include:
Women in professions that are usually dominated by men
Women who use technology in surprising ways
Women who are fighting the fight every day to express who they are, in
spite of the "shoulds" and stereotypes we face
Women who don't fit the images of the "Beauty Myth"
and in general...
Women who are, in the words of my grandmother, "Strong, Like Onion."
This is not currently a moderated list, but harassment in any form will not
be tolerated. Please respect one another.
Men are welcome so long as they are respectful and considerate of the women
on the list.
Most importantly....have fun, meet some great people, and get inspired!
