My name is John Starace and I am a Webcinema member who started this
Hudson Valley regional list. This forum is open to all multimedia
professionals, students and amateurs in the areas of Film, Video, 3D
Animation, Graphics, Effects & Internet!
Hudson Valley encompasses about six counties north of NYC. It includes
Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties, We
have a Hudson Valley Film Festival held in June, and many artists and
celebrities live in this large area in such towns as Woodstock, Pound
Ridge, New Paltz and Pawling. There are also many colleges in the area
with students of film -- Bard, Vassar, SUNY Purchase, SUNY New Paltz,
Pace and Marist are some of the schools.
Webcinema-HudsonValley is an affiliate of the main Webcinema list
<http://www.webcinema.org/>, created to address specific issues as they
relate to filmmaking in the Hudson Valley region. Calls for crew or cast,
requests for Hudson Valley locations, announcements of events, festivals,
film parties, and such in the Hudson Valley area ... all are on topic for
this list.
The main webcinema list is devoted to more general discussions relating
to using the internet and new media technologies to create, produce,
market and distribute independent film. Particularly emphasis is on
international co-productions. Currently Webcinema has 1,500 filmmakers
world worldwide in over forty countries.
