NEW DESIGN!
About.com and I are proud to debut a new design for each and every
About.com GuideSite--the result of tremendous input from users and everyone
on the About.com team.
The new design is geared to make each site a complete place to explore a
topic, much like it has been, only better. Here are some of the
differences you'll notice when you visit:
* All of the hand-picked links to the best of the Net have been combined
with my original content under one section called "Subjects" on the left
side of every page of the site.
* Every day, you'll find a new "Did You Know" on my home page, providing an
interesting geographic fact and a link to more information.
* "In the Spotlight" will continue to provide the most topical information
on my site.
* There's a new section called "Essentials," where I've put all of the most
essential info on my topic, right on the home page.
Please take a look at the new look...

MOTHER OF SCIENCES?
"William Pattison in 1964 wrote the 'Four Traditions of Geography'
demonstrating how in the past geography has exhibited a broad range of
uses. He named geography as being the 'mother of sciences' because it
covered such a wide range of studies..." - LAZA10

America vs. North America?

WHAT DOES CONSERVATION MEAN?
Cameron asks "Doing an essay at the moment and the statement is based on is
'conservation is not just about the protection of rare species of plants
and animals.' I was wondering what anyone's opinions on this are..."

SEA LEVEL RISE MAP?
ENID20 asks, "I've been asked to locate a map...showing what present-day
coastlines would look like with a rise or fall in sea level of several
hundred feet." Any ideas for online or offline sources?
