[SPT/CWIS] could SPT support rss 2.0 ?

Dear people at SPT,
 
would you consider supporting the export of rss 2.0?
it allows a straightforward inclusion of Dublin Core
fields, something that is missing in 0.92 . Are there
reasons to prefer 0.92? 

Has anyone attemped to rewrite the relevant code?
would rewriting Axis--RSS.php be enough?
