    The new account activation message
    is indeed an issue in 1.4.1, in part
    because the default new user e-mail
    didn't get updated to reflect the new
    mechanism, and in part because the
    upgrade mechanism preserves the
    existing (invalid for 1.4.1) message.
    These will both be addressed in 1.4.2.

    That said, can't you just go in and
    edit the text using the "Edit New
    Account E-Mail Text" option on the
    Administration page?  Unless I'm really
    misunderstanding the problem, I'm
    puzzled that PHP code changes would be
    needed.

    (I've included the correct example new
    account activation text below, for
    anyone who's updated to 1.4.1 but hasn't
    already fixed this.)
