[SPT/CWIS] merging data...

We've got an older version of CWIS with 38 tables in the MySQL database and the new 1.5 version has 45 tables.  What is the best way to go about merging the data to make everything work with minimal problems?  Should we just replace the 38 tables that (probably) exist on the 1.5 version and leave the new 7 other tables alone?
