Thank you for your input. You did fix a lot of the browser-related
problems! But now, I need to train my users not to use the browser back
buttons. Which was the problem with timing them out.

The SPT session timeout is hard-wired right now to three hours, but
you could run into problems if the value of session.cache_expire in
your php.ini file has been set lower than the default of 180.
Actually, this is likely to be the source of the problem, because we
changed the SPT session handling in 1.1.2 to make more extensive use
of
the internal PHP functions to help reduce browser-related problems.
