Just two more questions.
Are there any stop words file to not allow words like "a" "to" "and" etc to
mess up the relevance of a search? Also is there a way to setup synonyms so
that for example a search for the word "church" would also return results
with "synagogue" or "cathedral"?

Search results are ranked by relevance in SPT. Each result is assigned
a score based on the number of times each search term appeared in the
record and where it appeared, and then the results are listed in order
of descending scores. In calculating the score, the values associated
with where each term appears is weighted according to the search weights
defined in the Metadata Field Editor (default values: Title=5,
Creator=3,
Description=1, etc).
So, yes, SPT does attempt to rank the search results according to their
relevance to the search terms entered.
