[SPTUsers] problems installing

It seems that you do not have permissions to install in that directory with
you username (write privileges). Try installing it as root.

Hi, I am having big problems installing scout portal, and it looks like 
the exact thing I need, so I really need to get this working!
I have tried installing it on two separate servers so far - both work 
fine for other php/mySQL scripts, but I cannot seem to get the 
permissions right for scout portal.  In the hopes someone can point me 
in the right direction, the terminal transcripts are here, with private 
info changed:

Server 1 (DS)

Here is one set of errors, generated when attempting to install on 
Server1.
