[SPTUsers] importing users problem

Hello Ellen,
After reviewing you list here, this is what I came up with the possible
reasons:
1) User two did not appear because maybe you did not break the line of
user2. That is, you did not hit enter at the end of the line to create a
new blank one.
If not,
2) Follow the required format very strictly. For example this is what your
user2 entry two looks like:
* UserName (required) user2
* UserPassword password2
* Email (required) user2 at website.com
* Website http://user2.com
* RealName (required) User One
* Address1 Street
* Address2 City
* City State
* State 00000
* Country USA
* Zipcode
Notice that this way not all the fields have a matching entry. Additionally,
by not leaving a strict blank on address2 the values end up incorrectly.
If, you make sure that all the fields are filled (even with just a blank)
and you break the last line of information you have (user2 in this case)
then it should work just fine.
It is a weird action since the required fields are filled, but who knows, it
might help.
3) This just ocuured to me. Maybe if your first line on your import file had
the actual fields the data corresponds to, then that might help the
importer.
That is:
UserName{tab}UserPassword{tab}Email{tab}Website{tab}RealName{tab}...etc.....
User1{tab}password1{tab}..etc...
User2{tab}password2{tab}..etc...
This is what I had to do for importing resources.
P.S. You can actually add them manually when you click on login, and the
login box comes up, you just click on "create a new account". But you would
initially have to put you email as the user email since it emails you a
randomly generated password.

Subject: [SPTUsers] importing users problem
Hi, I attempted to follow the instructions for creating new users
yesterday: I made a list of two users, and tried to import, thinking
the path to users.txt should be relative - this did not work, I got
lots of errors, and no new users. I gave it an absolute local path to
users.txt, and then it worked - but it imported 1001 users! All blank,
except for encrypted passwords! Anyone have any ideas what I did wrong?
Is there a specific reason the users need to be imported rather than
created through a web interface?
The format of the imported document was like this:
user1 password1 user1 at website.com http://user1.com User
One Street
City State 00000 USA
user2 password2 user2 at website.com http://user2.com User
Two Street
City State 00000 USA
those big spaces between each word are all tabs.
Thanks,
Ellen Meiselman
