[SPTUsers] importing users problem and html in descriptions

If you check out our SPT site (http://portal.dep.anl.gov) and poke around
(check out the old news) you will find embedded html in the description
fields. Beware, not all tags work. They are filtered through a check
function in SPT. I believe <hr> <li> <ul> and other not so common tags wont
work. But bold, italics, underline, a, and even size will work.

OK, thank you very much for the suggestions. I will try the changes you
suggest. I also had not noticed the "sign up for an account" area - I
had been looking for an Add New User selection under administration.

I will need to make big changes to the Advanced Search page, and may be
asking for some help when I get around to that - I need to shift the
Audience filter up to the top of the page - before the title/URL search
boxes.

Question: is there a way to modify the code so that I could use simple
html tags in the descriptions? Like clickable links, line breaks, bold
text, etc.
