This is very odd, as we have a bug reported by another site that logins
work on their installation with every browser *except* for IE, however
they are running SuSE Linux, not OS X. On the other site, the problem
seems to involve cookie storage: SPT uses a single cookie value (to store
a session ID), and when you try to login to the SuSE-based site, IE
   silently throws the cookie away.

We are looking into both problems. In the mean time the one thing I can
assure you of is that SPT does not make use of Front Page extensions in
any way. If you uncover any additional details about the problem at your
site, please send a note to sptsupport at scout.wisc.edu with the info.

   Thanks.

   Ed
