The US Census Bureau has released a report which demonstrates that "traditional families" (married couples with children) have begun to stabilize as a percentage of all families in the 1990s, and the growth of single-parent families has slowed. Preliminary data from the Marital Status and Living Arrangements survey is available from the Census Bureau. At the site users may also view previous annual reports, which contain limited detail tables for states and some metropolitan areas.
While the mean sales price of houses sold in November 1999 was $209,700, the average sales price of new houses sold in November 1999 was slightly lower, at $167,400. There were 848,000 houses sold during this time period, up 23,000 from November 1998.
