Nova Southeastern University Oceanographic Center Distance Education
Distance education features marine science, policy and education courses at three levels: general interest (towards a certificate); undergraduate; or Masters program. Current courses on: sharks and rays; marine mammal management; biostatistics; coastal ecology, environmental sustainability; remote sensing applications; and more. Monterey Bay Aquarium & Research Institute Summer Internship Program
MBARI offers summer professional development opportunities for teachers, graduate students and undergraduates. North American Association for Environmental Education
NAAEE is a network of professionals, students, and volunteers working in the field of environmental education throughout North America and in over 55 countries around the world. Since 1971, NAAEE has promoted environmental education and supported the work of environmental educators. National Science Teachers Association
NSTA is the largest organization in the world committed to promoting excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all. National Marine Educators Association
An informational resource for marine science educators, those both in the classroom and out of the classroom. Information such as membership, regional chapters, upcoming conferences, scholarships, educator awards, grants, and much more are available. Sign up for Scuttlebutt, the premiere marine science educator's listserv and for a small fee, join NMEA, as well as your local chapter.

SeaWorld Environmental Excellence Award
Since 1993, the Anheuser-Busch Adventure Parks have recognized the outstanding efforts of K-12 students and teachers across the country who are working at the grassroots level to protect and preserve the environment. Available to K-12 school groups that have outstanding environmental projects. Eight schools will receive $10,000 for their school and one teacher will receive $5,000.

OCEANIA Marine Educators Association
Educators' association for Hawaii and the Pacific Islands. Serves as the Marine Science Section of the Hawaii Science Teachers Association and as the Pacific regional chapter of the National Marine Educators Association. NSTA Professional Development
A professional development gateway for science educators. Provides face-to-face learning opportunities, as well as on-line courses and web seminars year round.
