WATERbase

The Great Lakes Water Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee operates this large database of "water quality data for Lake Michigan and tributary rivers in the Milwaukee region." The facility conducts studies in this area to ascertain the impact of human activities and species introductions on this part of the lake's ecosystem. Data can be retrieved for seven different locations in conductivity-temperature-depth profiles or chemistry profiles, and is updated on a monthly basis. Some other projects that monitor lake properties are detailed on this site, including a new pelagic buoy designed to gather meteorological and water quality data.
