A Study of Charter School Accountability

The US Department of Education recently released two reports which find that charter schools "are helping public schools and districts to improve." The second report is the "first extensive, nationwide study of charter school accountability," based on a two-year study of 150 charter schools. In brief, it finds that external accountability promotes internal accountability and better working relationships and coordination between staff and students. Readers may download both reports from the Department of Education site.
