A national preference for sport utility vehicles is apparent from the 1997 US Census Bureau Vehicle Inventory and Use Survey (VIUS) -- a data source on truck physical attributes and use in the US. Currently, reports on Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania are posted with up-dates expected until late 1999.
