Named in honor Emilio Segre, Nobel Laureate for nuclear and high-energy physics, the Emilio Segre Visual Archives contains approximately 25,000 historical photographs, slides, lithographs, engravings, and other visual materials related primarily to American physicists and astronomers of the 20th century. Almost 1,500 of these are currently available online, searchable by name, keyword(s), and category. Users can also browse a collection of "mini-exhibits," featuring photos, stories, and quotes revealing the "human face" of some of the most famous physicists in history. The Segre Visual Archives is part of the Niels Bohr Library of the Center for History of Physics at the American Institute of Physics (AIP).
