It's hard to see satellite pictures of the earth from a satellite without being taken aback by the beauty of it. While it may seem like an unlikely pairing, art and science have much in common. These two sites are good examples of the union. First, from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), is a news release on the AAAS galleries and the paintings by Marie Laurence Gaudrat at the AAAS headquarters building. The second site, Visions of Science, "is a photographic awards scheme organised by Novartis Pharmaceuticals to encourage ongoing discussion about science." The site, itself artistic, offers information on the competition, previous winners, and related events.
