TeacherServe is a new "interactive curriculum enrichment service" for high school English and History teachers provided by the National Humanities Center. The purpose of the site is to allow teachers to deepen their course content by providing scholarship online that has been specifically tailored to classroom use. TeacherServe will consist of a series of "instructional guides on important topics in the humanities on the secondary level. Each guide will provide commentary along with instructional tools," as well as relevant links. The first guide, Divining America: Religion and the National Culture, is designed to assist history teachers with the difficult challenge of explaining the role of religion in US history. Well-balanced and aptly written, this first guide is a very good sign of things to come from TeacherServe.
