In December 2010, 40 representatives from foundations, cultural institutions, and libraries met at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They met to discuss best approaches to building a national digital library, and with the assistance of the Berkman Center for Internet & Society they are committed to creating the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA).
