Impact of Armed Conflict on Children

In 1994, United Nations Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali appointed Graca Machel, a former Mozambican Education Minister, to study the impact of armed conflict on children in response to a call by the General Assembly for a detailed examination of the issue. This report presents the findings, conclusions and recommendations of the two-year study which included consultations with experts and officials from key regions, field visits, and interviews with the individuals affected.
