A report released last month by the American Association of University Professors (AAUP), Ernst Benjamin provided an update to a 1988 report on the status of women in academic professions. His report, "Disparities in the Salaries and Appointments of Academic Women and Men," concludes that "despite the increasing proportion of women in the academic profession," significant differences still exist "in salary, rank, and tenure between male and female faculty."
