The Relevance of Adam Smith

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond explores the relevance of eighteenth-century economist Adam Smith in today's world. Quoting heavily from Smith's famous work The Wealth of Nations, this article summarizes many of Smith's main themes and ideas, and attempts to prove that Smith's "ideas have become so thoroughly absorbed into our intellectual heritage that they are no longer identifiable as having originated with Adam Smith."
