The Historical Software Collection allows you to relive these experiences by providing an open archive of early software. Curated by Jason Scott of the Internet Archive Digital Library, the Historical Software Collection includes dozens of vintage software packages, including the programs highlighted above. Gaming fans will also want to note that the site includes Pac-Man and a number of other early Atari games. Thanks to browser emulators, visitors can use featured software just as they did in the 1980s and early 1990s. While the Historical Software Collection can make for an enjoyable afternoon for anyone looking to nurse some nostalgia, it also provides a useful, accessible online archive to preserve this important pioneering work.
