The National Center on Health Statistics (NCHS) has released (February 2000) this fifteen-page report, "Health Outcomes Among Hispanic Subgroups," which emphasizes a gap between the health levels of Puerto Ricans and other Hispanics. For example, "Eighteen percent of Puerto Rican individuals reported being in fair or poor health, compared with 14 percent of Cubans and 12 percent of 'other Hispanic' groups."
