In March 2001, Human Rights Watch released this new report. Scared at School: Sexual Violence Against Girls in South African Schools examines the physical and sexual harassment young girls often encounter in South African schools as well as the consequences for their education, as many girls leave school in the face of such harassment, and the general failure of school authorities to prevent it.
