The EURO: One Currency for Europe

Available in eleven languages, three connection speeds, and Java and non-Java versions, the site promotes the currency with enthusiasm. Animated images display the new notes, which flip from front to back to show both sides. A timetable for implementation of the Euro is available, as well as speeches on the new currency from Yves-Thibault de Silguy, Member of the European Commission with special responsibility for economic and monetary affairs. Background documents from the Presidency of the European Council are also provided. Users looking for a balanced critique of the idea of a unified currency should probably look elsewhere.
