CWIS 3.9.0 admin login problems

Hello,

I have just performed a clean installation of CWIS 3.9.0 on my MAC with MAMP last version. The installation was clean, smooth and successful but when i log in the first time with the admin login i have created during the installation the system doesn't log me in. I have tried twice a clean installation but i experienced the same problem.

Is there a bug somerhere considering it's a BETA version or am I missing something?

Thank you!

Fabrizio

Hi Fabrizio!  What version of MAMP are you using, and what version of PHP does it run?

MAMP version is 3.5 (decleared as the last available) while the PHP version enabled is 7.0.0.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

Thank you for the additional details.  We've replicated the problem in-house with MAMP 3.5, and are investigating.

Could you try setting the Apache port to 80 in MAMP and let me know if that makes a difference?  It may provide an interim solution, until we can track down the root cause of the problem.

Hello,

please apologise for the dealy in replying.

I have tried to set the ports as you suggested and it seems that with them everything works ok.

Thank you for your advice.

But... shouldn't CWIS work even with different webserver and database ports setings? Just in case some webservers use different ones...

Re: CWIS 3.9.0 admin login problems

Yes, CWIS should work with different ports.  In fact we run it with various ports in-house at Scout all the time, to test with different version of PHP and route execution through debugging tools.

We were initially able to reproduce the problem you reported with MAMP, but then for no discernible reason it stopped happening, and we haven't been able to get it to happen again since then, so we're a little stuck in trying to diagnose the issue.  That said, we will likely be making a few tweaks to the session handling in 3.9.1, that may help reveal some more useful information about the problem when it does happen.
