Posted by the United Nations Crime and Justice Information Network, these data, the second installment of which was posted on September 29th, 2000, present international statistics on trends in crime, victimization, and criminal justice systems. The data are derived from a combination of methods for tracking crime, including not only the reports of law enforcement agencies, but also data from victimization studies, which often provide information on underreported or "unconventional" crimes. The data are presented in Microsoft Excel, and the codebook is available in .pdf format. A link to the UN's 1999 Global Report on Crime and Justice is also available.
