Not quite sure where to start here. EditResourceComplete.html and SPT--EditResourceCommon.html are not overriden.

I am able to replicate this issue by creating a Classification, enabling both the "Uses Qualifiers" and "Show Qualifiers" metadata field options, setting the "Default Qualifier" to "--", populating the field with some classifications, and then assigning them to a resource.

The parenthesis enclose the qualifer, which for this field is blank. I've checked in a patch which doesn't display the "()" when there is no qualifier.  This patch will ship with CWIS 3.1.1.

Was this the issue you were experiencing?  Or does it look like there was some other mechanism in play?

If it was the above, then disabling "Show Qualifiers" for the affected field will hide the "()".
