Bot Detector

The Bot Detector plugin provides internal support for detecting whether a page was loaded by a person or by an automated program, like a search engine web crawler. This is useful for plugins that collect usage data, like the Metrics Recorder plugin, so that they only count page visits from users.

Backward Compatibility

The Backward Compatibility plugin adds several internal measures intended to enhance backward compatibility for user interfaces originally created for 1.x versions of CWIS.  (These measures were originally included as part of the core software in CWIS 2.x, but were moved into a separate plugin to reduce overhead for sites where they are not needed.)

This is only useful if you have a CWIS 1.x customized user interface you're trying to use with CWIS 2.x or later;  it is not needed if your customized interface is based on a newer version of CWIS.

Auto Screenshot

The Auto Screenshot plugin partially automates the process of adding screenshots resource records. Using the plugin's preferences, sets of resources can be excluded from this automatic process based on Flag metadata fields.  To function, a copy of wkhtmltoimage must be placed in plugins/AutoScrenshot/bin.

Author Autofill

The Author Autofill plugin allows user information to be automatically copied into designated metadata fields in new records.  Up to three values may be copied.

Use

A typical use case for this plugin would be when users submit records for resources they've created as part of your collection workflow, in which case Author Autofill could be used to automatically copy the user's name into the Creator field for the resource, or the user's email address could be copied into a Contact Address field for the resource.

AddThis

The AddThis plugin provides a developer API to make it easier for user interface creators to interact with the AddThis Sharing Button API in order to display buttons for users to share a resource record, page, or link to various social media sites.

User Account Pruner

The User Account Pruner can be used to remove user accounts that have never been activated and (as of upcoming 1.0.1 version) that are not referred to within resource metadata.  A delay (number of days) after initial signup can be specified before an account is considered for removal.

Accounts can be pruned once on command, or automatically on a regular basis.

YouTube

The YouTube plugin adds the ability to automatically upload video files to YouTube when they are added to a resource and display them in a video player on the resource's full record page. The plugin can also be configured to automatically delete uploaded videos from YouTube if removed from the collection. Since the video conversion and player are provided entirely by YouTube, this plugin provides an effortless way to add videos to a resource collection that are playable on a variety of devices and platforms.
